Why Reporting is Important

You have tons of things to do, but aren't sure how to squeeze in that mentor report. Sound familiar?

Hey, Karla understands. As a matter of fact, she mentors someone and has to send in reports, too.

Why are mentor reports so important, anyway?

First of all, as Safety Net's program director, Karla is legally and morally responsible for what happens between you and your mentee. Whether your mentee is doing great, having problems, or out of town, she needs to know.

Second, Karla isn't the only person who gets your mentor reports. Your reports are often forwarded to the school counselors and/or case workers who referred your child to Safety Net in the first place. They act as a back-up system in case anything goes wrong.

Third, reporting regularly helps you as well as your mentee. Karla can give you good advice, bring in outside help, help you contact your mentee, or, if necessary, rematch you or your mentee.

Lastly, we believe in you. Missing one mentor report should NOT be enough reason to make you miss another. Give a brief overview of past activities and stay caught up starting now.

The best part is you can send in a mentor report in less time than it took to read this article!
